The mission of the National Wild Turkey
Federation's Women in the Outdoors™ program is dedicated to
providing hands-on educational outdoors opportunities for
women of ages 14 and over.
Today, millions of women enjoy
hunting, fishing, and other outdoors activities, and the
number of women involved in these activities is expected to
grow. Our goal is to teach the importance of responsible
wildlife management, increase participation in the outdoor
related opportunities, and to preserve the hunting tradition.
We plan to accomplish our goal
by introducing more women to outdoor activities, training
women as outdoor educators, and providing a network of men and
women with similar outdoors interest within our local chapter
system. Through these programs women will become members
within their local chapters and of the NWTF. The Women in the
Outdoors™ program will offer events that will be affordable to
today's busy and budget-conscious women. These events will be
hosted through the NWTF's growing local chapter system, which
now numbers more than 1,100 chapters. Through this network we
can offer hundreds of events every year to teach women
outdoors skills.
